Many treatment facilities must now comply with the updated Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), which mandates tighter controls on emissions. Residual biogas in digestate remains a significant challenge for anaerobic digestion systems. Incomplete breakdown of organic matter often results in continued methane release during storage or handling which undermines Net Zero objectives and risks fugitive emissions.

ELOVAC® helps address both issues by stripping residual biogas from digested sludge before dewatering. This not only reduces emissions, but also improves sludge stability and supports compliance with evolving IED and environmental sustainability requirements.

Many treatment plants also face challenges with struvite scaling, rising disposal costs, and the need to comply with tightening phosphorus limits. ELOVAC® offers a compact, energy-efficient solution that addresses these pressures.

The demo plant is a containerised, plug-and-play solution designed to process sludge flows from 5 to 20 m³/h. By removing residual methane and CO2 from digested sludge, the system helps to optimise dewatering, reduce polymer consumption, and enable controlled phosphate precipitation – all while lowering emissions and supporting compliance with tightening environmental standards.

The unit arrives fully skid-mounted, pre-assembled, and internally wired for fast and easy installation. Key features include:
