As a key-worker industry we design, manufacture, engineer and install surface water, wastewater and drinking water solutions, from flood management products through to large scale sewage treatment tanks and filtration. We are the exclusive UK distributor for a number of leading European specialist manufacturers within the water industry and we work closely with our 100% shareholder ELIQUO WATER Group based in Germany, particularly to develop products to support Net Zero Carbon.

Our established team of 120 people are crucial in our quality and performance and we have a good track record of career progression. Process Engineer/Process Scientist

About you:

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Feasibility, outline and detailed process design of systems, including production of mass balances, P&IDs, control philosophy and commissioning plans
  • Technical support to the Sales & Marketing Team, including direct contact with existing and potential customers
  • Process commissioning of newly installed systems, at customers’ sites
  • Troubleshooting of poorly performing systems on behalf of the customer
  • Research & Development work to better understand and develop current and new technologies and applications
  • Technical support to the multidisciplinary Design Team during project development
  • Occasional laboratory work may be required

Essential requirements to succeed in the role are:

  • A relevant degree and experience
  • Computer literacy and strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • An ability to analyse data and produce clear and concise reports and presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic, independent and resourceful

Desirable experience includes:

  • Project Management qualifications or experience
  • CAD
  • Knowledge of process and hydraulic modelling
  • Experience of process design of activated sludge systems (including fine bubble diffused aeration, filtration, phosphate and algae removal)

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will be at the forefront of the Projects Team, working closely with Project Managers on a range of exciting and innovative schemes. Our aim is for every project to be delivered on time, in scope and in budget, whilst maintaining excellent standards of health and safety. Each day will be different, as you liaise with clients, the factory and our installations department to make sure everything runs smoothly throughout the lifecycle of a project. As such, your engineering skills will be immensely valuable, ensuring we provide accurate technical information to clients and partners as well as spotting and resolving problems proactively.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of projects on time, in scope and in budget
  • Reviewing and checking technical designs, specifications and reports to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Working closely with clients to understand their requirements and explore the project scope in detail to ensure that the project runs smoothly and meets their expectations
  • Creating and maintaining project records, including contractual and technical documentation
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure technical information is supplied and received and understood as required
  • Coordinating engineering activities to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Visiting sites across the U.K. and Europe as required

MEICA Engineer

Job Title: MEICA Engineer
Location/Function: Process and Innovation Cloud
Job Reports to: Managing Director
Deputised By: Project Engineer(s)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To develop and progress the engineering of EH treatment processes both for routine and extraordinary projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the tendering of ‘special’ projects (relevant Area Managers to own client relationships and negotiations)
    • Work alongside our process engineers  to understand technology/treatment requirements, for technologies such as Activated Sludge, Fine Bubble Diffused Aeration (FBDA), Granular Activated Sludge systems, Filtration and Membrane processes and others.
    • Develop Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Control and Automation (MEICA) proposals to suit client brief and scope, incl spreadsheet designs, conceptual sketches/drawings and other documents as may be required.
    • Liaise with suppliers as required.
    • Collaborate with Area Managers to optimise win chances.
    • Produce accurate costing proposals and quotation documentation.
  • Provide project engineering support to the Projects dept. in the delivery of ‘special’ projects.
  • Any reasonable engineering support to the business on core EH technologies or special projects.
  • Liaison with colleagues in engineering, procurement and tender production to ensure optimum tender submissions to clients.

Site Support

  • Attendance to site(s) as may be required to support commissioning of EH technologies
  • Attendance to site(s) as may be required for problem solving and/or process improvement in support of Sales and/or Hire, Parts & Service.

Engagement in R&D activities

  • Any of the above duties as may be sensible in support of R&D initiatives


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

Experience in MEICA engineering of municipal water, wastewater and sludge related treatment technologies and experience in the design and production of equipment in stainless steel sheet and pipework would be highly desirable.
Appropriate training on ELIQUO HYDROK products and technologies will be provided, but prior experience in these processes and the overall design calculations associated with the operation of various types of wastewater treatment works is essential.

Experience with comparable industrial / private sector treatment technologies advantageous but not required.
Relevant degree desirable.

Welder Fabricators

Due to continued expansion ELIQUO HYDROK are currently seeking welder/fabricators

As an established provider of waste water treatment technologies to the UK water industry, the successful candidates will work within the fabrication department, reporting to our Fabrication workshop manager

Your duties and responsibilities will vary but include:

  • Fabrication of medium to large products of up to 5 tonnes.
  • Bench work as and when required.

Essential requirements:

Experience with stainless steel MIG and TIG welding.

Ability to work unsupervised.

Ability to develop patterns.

Desirable:

  • Completed an apprenticeship is this trade.
  • Own Hand Tools.
  • MMA welding experience.
  • EN287 and ASME IX

Selected applicants will be required to attend an interview and carry out a supervised weld/task test.

Usual working hours are 8:00 to 17:15 Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:00 to 13:00
